we never did find the solution to this one, I think it's a bug in the sxs stuff that came with xp. In theory, the problem could happen with a c# process as that can use sxs too. Please keep me informed if anyone comes up with a solution.

Hi,

I am aslo struggling with the same problem. An OCX COM component (to extent IE) gets loaded twice!!

It is very easy to reproduce the problem: create a new OCX project (based on MFC or ATL)...and test it with the "tstcon32.exe" test app.

Take a look at ProcessExplorer when the component is hosted...and there you have it, the component is loaded twice in memory!!

This takes place in W2K3 and Vista.

Any idea why?
